In June 2020, a trending video on social media showed a 14-year-old girl breastfeeding a child. The video attracted public outrage and condemnation, but in Adaka, a community in the Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State, Nigeria, early marriage is a stubborn menace and a child breastfeeding another child is a norm.
After being awarded the EduTrust 2020 Grant, North-central coordinator; Jude Odufu, designed CAEMAC (an education, advocacy, and sensitization project conceived as a first step) to address the challenges of early marriage in Adaka community.
