We do not trust students from rural communities to avoid conflicts when it occurs, but we trust that, with an innovative idea, we can prepare them for emergency situations.
School teens are exposed to emergency situations on a daily basis, and some of these problems arises from behavioral and physical exchange. When it occurs, they are oftentimes unprepared and unskilled to handle it.
In response to this challenge, the North Central Coordinator, Haruna Ibrahim, developed a solution to prepare students. In partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross Society; Plateau State Chapter and Red Cross CDS group , a visit to Laranto-Katako in Jos, North of Plateau State mobilized students and introduced them to first hand practical steps in administering First Aid, restoring unconscious victims, stopping bleeding and handling burnt and fractured victims.
